By way of an introduction: I began making miniatures in 1975.
My love of antiques and all the wonderful "smalls" that
one comes across in the antique marketplace here in New England
was the inspiration for my miniatures. All of my pieces have been
thoroughly researched and carefully crafted in 1" = 1' scale.
I am extremely grateful to the Shakers of Sabbathday Lake, Maine,
who graciously allowed me to measure and match paint on so many
of their special pieces. My Shaker collection includes pieces from
the Hancock and Canterbury Shakers as well.
About the pieces: I use mostly basswood because of its stability
and close resemblance to pine. It is durable and takes a lovely
finish. My painted finishes are slightly "worn" in just
the right places and then buffed to a low glow. Pieces that are
stained have a warm, soft gloss.
Color choices: Red, Blue, Green, Mustard, Gray and Brown.
These are the colors that are typically used on furniture here in
New England. Stained pieces are a medium pine color. Pieces that
are offered as stained can also be ordered in cherry which is a
little darker than the pine stain and mellows beautifully with age.
Ordering:
I try to keep the accessories in stock so that they can be shipped
quickly, but the furniture will take up to three weeks. If the delay
is longer I will notify you when I receive your order. Rug kits
are always in stock. Questions are always welcome. Click on the link above for a printable order form or contact me by email or telephone.
